Michael has built and scaled several high growth, technology-enabled brokerage businesses. Before founding Modern Life, he was part of the leadership team at CoverWallet, where he started and led its advisor businesses through a period of hypergrowth culminating in its acquisition by Aon. He previously worked at McKinsey & Company, where he counseled major financial services companies on growth strategy and digital transformation, the U.S. State Department, and NASA. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.S. in Engineering, cum laude, from Princeton University.

Dan Pierson has over 20 years of experience in leadership roles in both life insurance brokerage and technology. He was formerly the Founder and President of LegacyShield, an InsureTech startup that innovated in in-force servicing and whose software is used by thousands of agents daily. He played a leadership role there from inception through its acquisition by SBLI. Prior to that, Dan was Founder and CEO of Independent Life Brokerage, where his team supported hundreds of life insurance advisors on the full client lifecycle, focusing on large and complex cases. He has served on the advisory boards of carriers Transamerica, Principal, and Zurich.

Bill Ventura, CFP® leads Strategic Growth at Modern Life, where he oversees relationships with major accounts. Prior to joining Modern Life, Bill spent more than 20 years at Lincoln Financial. Most recently, he was a Sales Vice President for Lincoln Financial Distributors, where he was responsible for the wholesale distribution of Lincoln’s core products and services.
